The heat hasn’t been great for the bunnies but for Katie with her wool coat its been particularly hot. I do keep Katie’s coat relatively short for an Angora. If I let her coat grow it usually gets to 5 inches, (over 12cms), long. It is then very difficult to keep on top of and the matts soon build up even with regular combing. Katie also doesn’t have the patience to sit on your knee and been groomed for a long time. She has her own shaver and a few weeks back she got a good shave, well, not half bad shave. It is actually harder than it looks to get an even shave on her.

I was just starting the shave and taking my time to get things right as I didn’t want to nick any of her skin.

Like I say it was hard to get a smooth shave.

The above picture shows I have been able to get to the majority of her side but her underneath and paws are a different matter. It is a 2 person job.

Katie was fed up by this point and we took a few minutes break. Once again you can see the uneveness and her tummy fur sticking out.

She’s not perfect by any means but all that matters is that she is cooler and I can now start to tackle her paws and underneath bits as I can see better. I just need to book a visit from her Aunty C.
