The Moulters.

Peanut showing a clear line of where he has shed to.

So the last couple of weeks everyone has started to show signs of moulting. At the moment Peanut is the one who is showing a very definite coat that is shedding.

Here you can see Peanut has shed down to his flanks.
A view overhead shows he has his new coat on his back & once again you can clearly see the moult line.

Considering Peanut’s obvious moult I haven’t had to comb him much unlike Thumper…

Thumper starting his moult. You can see the fur stuck up near his shoulders.
Thumper with his combed out fur looking much better.
Poppy barely shedding yet.
After a good groom this is all that came off Poppy’s coat.

Poppy’s coat is very fine & I find the fine coated bunnies often don’t need combing, it’s the ones with a thicker coat that usually require grooming. The exception to this is Katie & Toffee, both need regularly grooming due to the thickness & type of coat they have.

Katie ready for the dreaded groom!
Toffee looking fab after his groom.
A lot more of his coat came out on this combing. I know there will be a lot more to come too.
Tilly barely any moulting & she too has a fine coat.
Apollo’s coat is well underway with a moult. His coat has shed on his back & if you look closely you can see his moult line down his side.
Daisy’s moult is starting but not quite in the usual way, it would appear HER right side is starting as well as her back.

If the moult is underway with any of your bunnies the best plan is to keep grooming to help them through it. If you’d like any further information on moulting click here.
