Furry Gift.

Peanut having a groom.

Moulting began a few weeks back in the bunny shed, surprisingly it has been quite mild for most of the bunnies. Peanut was one of the bunnies who did need a quick groom, he had a number of tufts sticking out of his fur.

Fur combed out of the bunnies.

The above photo unbelievably is what was combed out of 6 of the bunnies. By normal standards not a lot at all for this time of the year. The smallest pile was Thumper, Molly and Peanut. The white pile was Poppy and the largest pile was Bungle and Bob. They do have a reasonable amount to comb out. Apollo is shedding very fine amounts of hair and Katie doesn’t really shed as she is clipped and I am thinking she might be one of the Angora’s that they have bred not to shed.
This time of year the bunnies gift their fur to the birds as it will make lovely nesting material.

An old bird feeder stuffed full of the bunnies’ fur.

Some of the above fur is from last year as it was a mega moult.

Hung up ready for any birds.
